Cellphones are the new technology of sending and receiving information from inside and outside the house and office. They are meant to be a way for people to communicate and connect even if they are miles apart. Sometimes, they can be so annoying that it borders on being disrespectful.

Always find the right place to use your cellphones so as not to annoy and disrespect others. It is called cellphone etiquette much like what you do when you are on the table eating.

If you have a phone with you inside a meeting or inside the classroom, always check it if it is turned off. It is very offending for someone who is concentrating on the discussion or the exam and suddenly your phone beeps and they are snapped out of their concentration.

There are certain times that you will need to have constant information brought to you so calls will certainly be made every now and then. If you are caught up in a situation like this, it is much better that you leave your phone on silent mode and you can excuse yourself to take the call.

There will be times that you will not be able to answer the phone because you are busy discussing or that you have left it unattended. Make sure that you have placed your phone into voicemail mode so that you can get back to whoever was calling you at that time.

Ring tones are often annoying tunes. People tend to have individual opinion on ring tones but none drives anyone crazy than a loud ring tone that almost everyone down the hall can hear. If you must, try to put your phone on vibration mode so you will still be able to know that you have an incoming call without offending people.

Never talk over the phone while you are walking especially if you are driving. It is now considered a crime to use the phone while driving as it often lead to accidents on the road. If you cannot let this call pass by, find a spot where you can stop your car and take the call if not, activate voicemail.

Never ever use your cellphone to call a prank on someone. You might never know, your number will pop up on their phones and call the police to arrest you for harassment.
